The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping, with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.
1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot
The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most intelligent robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable advancement, however, is its camera-based obstacle detection system. This uses AI to identify objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a picture of an object it encounters so that you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.
The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop we've ever tested. It removes dirt and spills effortlessly leaving no trace it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings, and also create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don't want. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
The design is also better than the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that looks like a toy rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System automatically empty and is ideal for reducing your cleanup time.
In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and even pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place instead of scattering it on the floor. It even was able to capture sand and small gravel that other robots can't. self cleaning vacuum did all this without getting tangled in our pet's hair.
While it's not quite as sophisticated as the Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still a solid option for those who need both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.
Although the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that use robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you see it in action.
2. Roborock Q5+
If you're looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the best choice. This type of robot typically includes a built-in water tank, meaning they can both vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also come with many additional features such as smart mapping, small object avoidance, and the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. Although it might not come with some of the premium features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice when you're willing to compromise to save a few dollars.
self cleaning vacuum is exceptionally gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also extremely thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums can really fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is fantastic as well, with only a few missing in corners and along walls.
Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled by the buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, create virtual barrier and no-go areas, modify your home map or re-label the rooms.
If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver for install, but once it's in place, emptying the bin is easy. It has a large LCD screen that is very useful when setting up schedules and altering settings. This isn't a necessity for most people but it can help you keep the track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
3. Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and function are among the best on the market however it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks stunning and is able to be concealed when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are impressive, too. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that do a really good job of cleaning up debris from bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.
But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its laser and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of your home. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to create an area for cleaning that is specifically designed for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features like stair climbing, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.
4. Eufy RoboVac g30
eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for carpets and hard floors, as well as mopping capabilities at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on, and plug it into the charging dock. The app guides you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to leave the dock near an electrical outlet and plenty of room for it to move but.
The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle when compared to rival models. It has a sleek black finish with three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.
The most important feature that makes the G30 apart from most competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to make a picture of the immovable items in its path. It can remember the items it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. It then returns to the base to recharge and continues cleaning where it left off.
The elegant G30 isn't without its faults however. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It is faster to charge, has similar battery life and performs better on unfinished flooring or carpet with a low pile. It has a bigger dust bin, which does not require the same amount of emptying. It also comes with boundary strips that keep it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
